Eco Cycle + UWB

October 13th, 2008

On October 23rd at 7:30pm, Cisco Zapata, UWB MBA Class of ‘08, will present to the Entrepreneurship Network, the Green Entrepreneurship at UWB club, and alumni on campus in UW2 205.

Zapata Brothers, Cisco’s company, is a new business venture that will produce the Eco Cycle. The Eco Cycle is a bicycle that will be produced in the USA from recycled aluminum alloy. This is the team that took first place at last Spring’s UWB Student Entrepreneurship Competition. Cisco will be presenting the current status of the Zapata Brothers venture.

Center for Student Entrepreneurship advisers will be in attendance including: Richard Jacroux (CFO, CW United) and George Fletcher (Co-Founder, Parity Software).

Come meet Cisco, CSE advisors, alumni, and fellow students while learning about a new green venture.

Upcoming Events for October

Thanks everyone for helping kick off the year with a great meeting last Thursday! Here are some events that are coming up soon:

Oct 6th: Week of Welcome at UWB - The Network will have a booth set up in the Commons of UWB publicizing our group from 3:30-6:30pm. Please stop by to ask any questions that you have or lend a hand running the booth if you can.

Oct 9th: Sai Mai Thai food- Join the Network for one of our unofficial social events! Eat dinner (not provided by the club) or have drinks (not provided by the club) and socialize with entrepreneurial students and alumni. We are meeting at 7:30pm. Oct 16th: Homecoming/ Spirit Week - The Network is hosting a happy hour event for the UWB Spirit Week. Join us for dinner (not provided by the club) and drinks (not provided by the club) as well as networking at Canyons (22010 17th Ave SE) in Bothell at 7:30pm. Oct 23rd: Meeting at UWB - The second regular club meeting will be held in UW2 - 205 starting at 7:30pm. Cisco Zapata will be on campus giving an update on his award-winning Eco Cycle product.

The Women and Leadership Development club is a University of Washington Bothell student club that is designed to be forum where female students across academic disciplines can develop leadership skills that will advance their professional careers and enhance their personal pursuits. This group will meet to discuss the current obstacles and challenges facing female leaders, to connect students with professional mentors, and to organize events featuring successful professional women. This club has not scheduled its first meeting or event yet. If you are interested in connecting on a weekly or monthly basis with student entrepreneurs until the first meeting, please check out the Entrepreneurship Network.

Attention Gamers!

October 5th, 2008

The Game Design and Development Club is a University of Washington Bothell student club that believes that: “Play is the natural way to learn and that game development can be purely directed for entertainment but also for educational uses.” The members of the Game Design and Development club are interested in issues related to developing and playing great games. The club has not yet started weekly meetings or events for the 2008-2009 school year. Regular meetings will start after a large Game Design Retreat scheduled for November 7th-9th. A “Green” Introduction

Green Entrepreneurship at UWB is a University of Washington Bothell student club whose mission is to be an active student organization that helps environmentally-minded entrepreneurs connect with other students and local professionals active in green businesses. Instead of weekly or monthly meetings, the club hosts a few large events each year where green business leaders speak to and mentor club members. If you are interested in meeting on a weekly or monthly basis with student entrepreneurs, please check out the Entrepreneurship Network.
